Saturday, October 01, 2005 CONGRATULATIONS!![]() Here's a warm welcome to Maegan N. Chew who arrived in our world just a few days ago. Wonder if she'll recognise me since i touch her almost every morning...hmmm Well done too to her newly-promoted mummy! =) A lil sad there won't be many tummies left to be touched now that the other preggies r gg off on their leave soon. Shall enjoy while it lasts! Been sleep deprieved again and hit by the flu bug. Finally finished my paper and handed the entire darn thing up. *phew* You shouldn't let the same person SET and VET papers during the same term! This is ridiculous! Never realise home and my mattress were such cosy places to hide in. Social life has dropped to zilch and yet i m happy just to get my butt home and vegetate. Come to think of it..it has been weeks, if not at least a month i have not been inside a movie theatre. Pretty amazing i must say! Yez nite's dinner was a disaster. I mean the programme. Attention to all who r planning their wedding dinners and contemplating asking frens/relatives/etc to perform during the dinner. Seriously, you NEED to hold an audition. No joke. Don't just allow any Tom, Dick or Harry who thinks that they have the slightest talent to perform for you. It aint gonna help even if the dinner is held at Four Seasons or that the food was actually quite tasty. Almost choked when a Band with No Name (yup, that's apparently what they call themselves) massacred More Than Words. Must give credit to the guitarist for her efforts as she's the only saving grace of the band. Imagine loud voices all going OFF-KEY. It did not even qualify as 'pitchy'. Tragedy! Then they followed on and slaughtered this chinese song called Guan Huai Fang Shi. From what i remembered about this song, it is indeed tough to go wrong with it. Every single fella in secondary sch den (in my time of course) knew it by heart. Needless to say, the song just didnt sound right. So why aint i feeling sorry for this bunch of young gals at the dinner who fared so badly? Becoz blatantly, they simply did not care that the diners were tramautised by their performance and continued to do this 'new' version of Yam Seng by bringing in the cello, maracas, drum and cymbals. Everyone, and i mean everyone, (k with the exception of their faithful family supporters) was slightly stunned and did not know what to say or do. Hence the Yam Seng was weak..at most audible. Not that i am a great traditionalist and wants to uphold the correct attitude and manner it should be done. Just to put my point across that it flopped. Seriously. See..my bitchy button is pressed. Never doubt the power of woman, or rather, in this case, the power of an extremely irritated relative at her auntie's wedding dinner. If i even get married and needs to throw a dinner and happen to have a step-daughter, i'll NEVER allow her to upsurp my night with her juvenile performances. Which reminds me of the dumb drumming stomp-wannabe performance that i had to perform together with the goodwill of my gang who were all so sweet and obliging. In uncle vicky's own words, yeah, i tink it was a mockery! Sigh...did they mention let bygones be bygones? Time to go back to work...at this rate they should really pay me more. Passion and ministry alone do not neccessary keep me strong and healthy.
