Tuesday, May 01, 2007 Byul (Star) By Kim Ah Joong(From the movie '200 Pounds Beauty') Makes me ponder whether beauty is all there is to it, talent or brains being second. Come on, no one wants to take a second look at the bulkier version of the lead actress. I was simply waiting for the moment when they unveil the slimmer version and then proceeded to gawk at the transformation. Beautiful touching story line, yes I agree, but how much does it really squash the importance of looking good in this society? I bet the director simply wants to bring us to a greater consciousness about cosmetic surgery and yet makes no statement to conclude if he or the movie supports the cosmetic wave. Even the lead actress's best gal pal decided to transform herself artificially at the end. I just simply thank God for creating me with ultra-high metabolism rate and an average face. Small boobs, vertically challenged, dark-skinned? Those are alright. It is indeed a growing process in learning how to love yourself. I had my fair share of walking through that period. Nowadays you find me walking around with shorter skirts that show my less-than-perfect, blemished legs. It took a long while before I could do that. So what if people stare or wonder how I got those marks on my legs? I simply just need to remember this verse:"I am fearfully and wonderfully made." You ain't gonna lose a friend just because of those ten or five cents on your legs. At least, you will not lose any true friend. Go catch it...it's worth sitting down almost 2 hours for a perk-me-up movie without killing your brain cells. Eye candy galore, once you pass the first half of the movie when the cute Kim Ah Joong enters without her fat suit. Anyway, the real reason for this entry? Someone passed me a flu bug and I'm currently battling a feverish fight with fluish symptoms. Blogging's my excuse and escape from work. Enjoy! Labels: Movies
