Saturday, June 28, 2008 RedangPhuket Was supposed to update this huge missing chunk of my life during the holidays, but somehow beyond procrastination, it is simply due to the lack of time to sit and reflect about what had happened that caused this entry to be severely delayed. It has been a rather fruitful June holidays. List of things I did: 1) Jet-set away on 2 short trips to the beach - Redang & Phuket 2) Polished off 2 very good books by Khaled Hosseini 3) Laboured away in the office during the time I was not out of the country with the exception of 2 days which I simply refused to step into the office 4) Completed all file and book checks for colleagues who handed them in before the holidays 5) Caught up with pals I have not seen in a while 6) Gave my kiddos two remedial sessions Main regret is not being able to see my lil darlings this entire holidays, which came and flew by like the wind. Their cute lil Phuket t-shirts are still with me...sigh. And of course, some stacks that I have not cleared. This is actually the first holiday that I have not felt terrible about reporting back at work faithfully from 8+ to 5. Perhaps like what shu said, I am really a certified workaholic. Had a lot of thoughts on people, friends and life in general when I was away. That's what nature does to you when you get near it - it draws you in, expand your mind and you soon realise that there is so much more to life. Nothing beats words of wisdom that comes from the mouth of Master Wugui (Kungfu Panda): 'Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.' To think I will come to quote from a turtle...life is just so strange. Labels: June Holidays
