Tuesday, April 17, 2007 A Perk-me-up?I'm the dodo that does not respond to emails that ask me to add this or that person as a friend on what-have-you-friends-connect websites. The only miserable account I have is Friendster, which I check half annually? Just to see if people have 'found' me as their friend since I don't actively hunt for them. So you can guess my pathetic number of friends..just logged in...it's 56. So was trying to clear the message box when I got compliments for my smile. Hmm..on a tired day working my butt off, this is a definite perk-me-up. Then I came to this message: Hi, I saw your pic through X's page. My company is a partner of Miss Singapore World and is organising a beauty pageant. The top 2 winners will go directly to Miss Singapore World pageant Finals. The top winner can win up to $10k in cash and prizes. I'm looking for talents and I find you suitable. Are you interested to join the pageant? Please reply me by sms at XXXXXXXX. Thanks a lot. Cheers, X Well, I'm 28, not 18. I do not possess heaving bosoms like many others do. She being desperate for people to join her pageant or I'm a true beauty queen potential, either way, it made my day! Haha...cheap thrill...who cares?!
Saturday, April 14, 2007 V for Victory!Strange how a lil kiddo can truly make your day. Was in class, distributing spelling books and facilitating as the kids try out some vocab exercises when out of the blue, V's voice ran out,"Ji Jiu! Ji Jiu(Emergency Rescue)!" Irritated that he dared to interrupt their desk work, I was about to pounce on him when I saw what he was doing. V was rushing to another boy's table, grabbed a UHU glue stick and busily rubbing it onto a tiny piece of paper. It was the tiny Post-it flap I stuck on his spelling book to remind him about dictation corrections. Somehow it was torn into 2 and he flew into a panic. He glued it onto a huge A4 white piece of paper and proceeded to cut the 'mended' flap out. To ensure it was secure, he included 3 staples on it, somewhat like the stitches on a wound. I only saw the finished product when he came and asked me about the dictation passage, as he could not find it. It brought a smile to my face and warmth to my heart. Background of V? A terribly cheena boy who spouts grammatically incorrect sentences if he has to converse in English and is brilliantly fluent in Mandarin, often forced by me to translate what he wants to say from Mandarin to English. A boy whose face turned beetroot red when I merely placed my hand over his shoulder once and whispered to him to concentrate in class, while the whole class watched on. My reliable 'spy' cum bodyguard for this other boy who has a tendency to sneak home after sch without reporting to me. Shall post up a photo of the tiny flap, perhaps frame it up or something when it comes back to me on Tue. Labels: Ramblings

Friday, April 06, 2007 Been wondering what's haunting tune playing in the current trailer for Prison Break 2?Click here to listen to it...Track 12 Track 1 was the first episode trailer song... What About Now? ~ Chris Daughtry Shadows fill an empty heart As love is fading, From all the things that we are But are not saying. Can we see beyond the scars And make it to the dawn? Change the colors of the sky. And open up to The ways you made me feel alive, The ways I loved you. For all the things that never died, To make it through the night, Love will find you. What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? Baby, before it's too late, What about now? The sun is breaking in your eyes To start a new day. This broken heart can still survive With a touch of your grace. Shadows fade into the light. I am by your side, Where love will find you. What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love, it never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? Baby, before it's too late, What about now? Now that we're here, Now that we've come this far, Just hold on. There is nothing to fear, For I am right beside you. For all my life,I am yours. What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? Baby, before it's too late, Baby, before it's too late, Baby, before it's too late, What about now? Enjoy.
